I'm looking for a buyer of 1979 Barbera D'asti. 12 liters. This bottle is big. Bottled by Gagliardo La morra -Italy. Ive been quoted $1,100.00 for this bottle...I'll take no less then $1,000.00. {{keep in mind...1990 Barbera D'asti runs $600.00}} I'm looking to get rid of this...so serious inq. only! Assuming that wine is from Gianni Gagliardo and not one of his less scrupulous cousins, that bottle was worth maybe $80 on release and could be worthless now or a nice party bottle worth maybe $200 at best. Just WHOSE Barbera d'Asti 1990 are you saying is $600? Bologna, Coppo, Conterno????

I've surrounded myself with this one bottle.....Ive toured the old vineyard and consumed many glasses of this vintage D'asti ((yum)) Granted, '78 was the vineyard's finest year with an "A+" the following year was still, respectably, an "A"

Dude, do the math: Sr, Gagliardi doesn's make a wine NOW that sells for anywhere near $60 a bottle which might make for a $1000 mondo honking 12 liter. In 1979 Barbera was selling for $2 a bottle if it was Coppo or Bologna, and much less for lesser producers. You are NOT going to get a grand for that bottle when your could buy five cases of the tre bicchieri winning Brumaio from San Fereolo for that with change back......
