2002 Paul Hobbs El Felino Malbec

Mendoza. This was an evening sipper, without food. Inky color with an interesting nose of meat -- real gamey meat, like venison. Anyway, though there was the hint of blackberries and blueberries, all that really came across the palate was grapey flavors and oak. Lots of sediment thrown in this one -- if you've got one, decant it carefully or avoid pouring that last glass. Alc. 14.7%. Paid $10. Much better Malbec out there at this price point.
