Last summer I bought a pair of bottles of 2006 Sebeka Shiraz (60%) Pinotage (40%) "Cape Blend" (South Africa). The price was right at 2/$14. I opened the first one 2 days ago and enjoyed it. I am not real familiar with pinotage, but it was sweeter than a Pinot Noir but not overly sweet. The flavor came out nicely in the wine. I am sorry I can not give the specific flavors or aromas. I only know that I would buy it again at that price.

Pinotage can make a really good wine, but for some reason too many RSA winemakers turn out less than stellar versions. BTW, the Pinotage grape is a viticultural cross between Pinot Noir (as it appears you figured) and Cinsault.
