Storage Facility In Washington, DC

I asked a similar question on the novice board and received no response. I'm hoping that someone on this board can provide me with a suggestion.
I am moving to Washington, DC shortly, and am hoping to find a wine storage facility open to those willing to pay a reasonable monthly fee. If I'm being unclear, I'm referring to a "wine locker," "community cellar," etc.

Try contacting retailers in the area. With all the foreign presence in the city, there has got to be some public storage areas.

I didn't respond to your earlier posting because I don't think you'll have any trouble finding storage in the DC area. Many homes have basements there, so you may well be able to set up cellar facilities in your own residence. If not, I would expect any number of wine shops might be coaxed into providing storage for you for a modest fee, if you become a dependable retail customer.

Gosh hotwine, I didn 't know that you perused this post as well. . .Thanx for the info. I assure you, I will be a regular customer some where. Can you suggest any good wine and spirits shops in the DC area?

Afraid I can't recommend any specific wine shops in DC. I've had many trips there, but kept those visits as short as possible; concerned about contamination, that sort of thing....
I just did a quick search on AltaVista, looking for wine+DC, and found an interesting site:http://www.aaronhirsch.com/dcguide/index.html
Also looked under AltaVista's Yellow Pages for DC, liquor & wine shops, and found a large listing, as one would expect.
When you're there for a few days, house-hunting or whatever, suggest you let your fingers do the walking. I'm sure you'll find storage.

Pergamum, just noticed two DC wine shops' ads in the current issue of Wine Spectator (30 Jun 00). Although they don't mention offering storage for purchased wines, they both have toll-free numbers, so you can call and ask them directly. If they don't offer storage, maybe they would recommend someone who does.

To see a map depiction of one of those addresses, try Yahoo's Maps: go to Yahoo's homepage, select Maps from the tool bar, then type the address in the search window. A street map will pop up with the address marked by a star, and you can zoom in or out, so you can see the shop's location in relation to other streets and landmarks.
I use this handy-dandy feature all the time.
You could use it to check out the location of each wine shop listed in the Yellow Pages, and it's relation to your new residence in DC.
