Can anyone tell me the differnece between a gamay noir and a pinot noir? Besides the grape varietal???

Hi boldred and welcome to the board. You just about said it all. Cousins, but from different sides of the tracks. Gamay is normally used for lesser wines whilst its' Pinot relative makes some of the worlds finest, and most expensive wines. WW
