Happy-happy back to y'all! She fixed a casserole of smoked BEEF sausage, chicken, black-eyes and wild rice that was to die for, paired with Embruix Priorat. Never got around to opening the Taittinger. Watched the ball drop on the Noo Yawkahs and bagged it.

Happy New Year to all. Also stayed up to watch the ball drop with Champagne and steamed shrimp w/Old Bay seasoning. No fireworks at the Baltimore Inner Harbor though due to high winds but their hoping to fire em off tonight at 7pm. Got a lamb roast slow cooking as we speak. Spoke to Verne yesterday afternoon and to the infamous CB who sounds so lovely. She truly must be a diamond in the rough living with Verne!

Spoke to Verne yesterday, too, and got an earful from his foulmouthed parrot. Since I worked yesterday (and today, also) we're splitting up the celebration. Made some aoli to go with shrimp and veggies, some tater skins and some gougere and served a Chateau Frank Celebre (sparkling Riesling). Tonight I'll make some more gougere, a couple of fondues and open a 2005 Roger Goulart Cava.

Judy and I wish all lurkers, posters, and good friends out there a very happy, healthy and (hopefully) prosperous 2009.

Happy New year to one and all. I managed to wake up in time to see the ball drop at Times Square. It's hard to believe that it's 2009, isn't it? Seems like the New Millenium was just a year or so ago! I wish you all a great year with good health good friends, good times, and of course, good wine!
