Well I was planning on doing some yard work this weekend, transplanting winter overed rosemary and thyme, getting grill and smoker out of basement, etc.

Well yesterday we awoke to a half inch of snow dusting. This morning it was an inch and a half!!!

It is beautiful, but hey it's April 17th. This is why in this neck of woods they tell us to hold everything until Memorial Day.

Anne and I have been waiting for that shoe to drop here. Today, flurries--who knows what tomorrow will bring.

Every flowering bush, tree and otherwise has responded to the past few weeks of real spring weather (and a little summer, too). But we know how dangerous that is in April. Or do we? I was all ready to plant this year's potatoes today, but have decided to give it another week. They need to be in the ground no less than two weeks before the last frost, and although we haven't had one frost this month, I don't believe that we won;t have one before the month is over.
