Well, we got our's filed today, and we are still married. Used www.taxactonline.com They are very good; but I'm a tax dummy. It took most of the day, but it is done. We are getting a wee bit back from the Feds, and more from the state. Have to see what we can do to keep the state from hanging on to that. Cheers; burp!

All day? Yikes! I now feel that the $40 I paid my tax guy was money well spent.

I use turbotax which is a very easy navigable program for those with not to complex tax situations. Bad news is we owe the feds several thousand cause I wasn't paying attention to my retirement checks for the first year receiving benefits. Have now increased proper witholding amounts so won't have a repeat performance.

I used a tax preparer. It gets complicated because I receive some payments out of two trusts (nice problem to have) and have both Roth and non-Roth IRAs. I get money back from both Feds and state this year (a total of around $1500). Last year I got sizable amount back so decreased withholding from my paycheck.

I used Turbotax for several years, but they got sneaky... put a bug on your copy to prevent you making a soft copy for file, all in the interests of preventing piracy of their product. Don't know if that's still the case, but I went with a CPA anyway, due to other complications. Breath a lot easier now.

Got word this morning that both Feds and State had received returns, and that money will be in our checking account within a week. Just love e-filing!

Really can't understand his stamina but i've had the same CPA for 30 years. He must be a genius as he's kept me outta' the clink all this time. WW
