In business, when things go south, the business tries increasing services and maybe reducing prices to encourage sales. In government, when things go south, the answer is to reduce services and to increase revenue through higher prices (taxes and fees).

NY State and City have increased the sales tax. Ugh!

Maybe, like business, I should go south.

Look at the bright side. The new federal tax cut should more than make up for the state increases.
