Am sure you are all familiar with the generic section of the supermarket; you know the place were everything comes in black and white boxes and jars. Well in Maine we have taken that concept to new heights. On our shelves we even have generic books. I enjoyed one that had a nice black and white cover and was written about something by somebody. Now we even have generic wine. It has a lovely black and white label and contains wine that was make from some fruit from somewhere; produced and bottled by someone using some methods that included fermenting and aging in barrels of some wood from somewhere for some time.

There have been anumber of iterations of such over the years. One I remember was called Generic Red and Generic White. They cmae with labels that appeared to have been ripped out of supermarket bags with simple stencil style fonts. Another brand was called Vanna Red and Vanna White. They come and they go.

Oh, I thought the posting was on "geriatrics." Damn, I'm going to have to get these bifocals tuned.
