I may have a chance to check in here in the morning before I go to the airport but I will be in Rio de Janeiro having too much fun for any three people combined (Verne excepted!) for the next four days. Behave yourselves and I'll report on the excellent Mango Batidas at Petiscos e Cie in Copacabana....

Well, after being told I could not get a flight until NEXT thursday, today I got confirmed for Sunday night to go to LA via Miami. The news here (CNN, BBC, O GLOBO) never says a WORD about anything but what is going on in NYC and the impending response so I have no idea about how the backlog of passengers at other airports has been handled. I would think that the massive economic dissruption caused by shutting down the airports would be a big story. Anyway, anyone have an idea whether I will be camped out in the MIAMI airport eating out of vending machines for three days or is a "confirmed" flight to LA at 5AM going to be there?

You should be able to get out of Miami (everyone should be able to get out of Miami, but that's another story).

If you can't get out of Miami don't eat out of the vending machines; take a trip to Orlando and eat mice...

Guess Foodie knows all about eating mice, since he hasn't been able to open his shop since Monday.
