Unfortunately, Bev broke her foot today. She will be on a walkers for two weeks, and then gets a walking cast. In the process of taking care of her, my problem swelled up to three times its normal size; so I'm going to bed right now with an ice pack. Cheers. It's fun to be in your '60s.

Sorry to read that, IK. I get my current cast cut off and a walking cast on Friday. Broke my ankle 6/27. Thought it somewhat surreal to be choosing a color for my cast in the throes of some pretty potent pain. I hope to be "cast free" by 7/26..off to the Cape. Speedy recovery to you both.

Add me to the list of those sending best wishes for a speedy recovery.

By the way, I'm going to bed with an ice pack, too. I dislocated my surgically-repaired shoulder in a soccer game last night. For several years, the "anne" part of "dananne" has been demanding I get out of the competitive leagues and join the "Over 30s." This just gives her more amunition . . . Over 30's club? Eh...I think someone forgot to mention that to my dad...he's currently in the process of developing that infamous washboard abs...so a lil fire to give back to "anne"...someone who is 49...can still be in shape enough to outdo those 30-somethins...heh heh heh. And speedy recovery to all those injured! G'luck making it to the Cape cast-free!

My sincerest condolences to Bev - and you too, IK. Is this what I have to look forward to when I officially hit my 60's in three weeks?

Too bad you don't live next door. I have a new Buck knife and a dangerous amount of knowledge of your problem......

Best to the Mrs.

KC, 3 weeks at 60! Today I turn 58.

IK, is that the same foot Bev twisted last year? She must have a weak ankle there.

Tell her I wish her well--you too, for that matter.

Happy Birthday, Foodie. I don't know about you, but hitting the large numbers just doesn't seem all that big a deal anymore. I'm more active than I was ten years ago, eating great food, drinking more wonderful wines, and most importantly, sharing life with a fabulous woman.
