We found ourselves with an over-supply of beef this weekend, and needing to thin out the freezer to make way for another side, which I'm to pick up on Tuesday. So tonight, we grilled five T-bones and a sirloin totalling about 112 oz over the usual oak coals and served up enough for the two of us with fresh corn on the cob, brocolli, a baked spud and apple pie. Will freeze enough for tomorrow night and give away the rest. The wine is the '99 vintage, most recently sold for $30 but picked up a case on Friday at $15.99 per. A rich, full-flavored mouthful of fruit with a touch of black pepper and green mint, and a lingering finish. Russian River Valley, 13.9% ABV, winemaker - Robert Rex, 200 cases made. A delightful jug o' juice! Had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Rex yesterday at a "grip 'n' grin' with the winemaker"; a very nice fellow indeed.

Las' time I done got " Gripped 'n Grabbed " weren't in no receiving line. I'm wif' the Buckenheister on this'n. WW ( Twere Fun )
