After looking ovewr the suggested wine types to serve with roasted leg of lamb, I decided to try a bottle of 2001 Cawarra Lindemans shiraz-cabernet. I was quite surprised at the experience. The wine only cost $4.99 at the Buehlers grocery chain in Ohio. It was a bit light for a predominately shiraz blend, but very satisfying. Definite Cherry and spice on the nose, and a medium bodied more cabernet like flavor. It stood up to the lamb well. I had other plans for this lamb dinner, (a botttle of '99 Buckeley's shiraz still awaits), I was bound and determined to try this wine to see if it was up to snuff. As I ponder the last glass in the bottle, I think I'll buy more.

Mike

If it is even drinkable at that price point, I say buy up! I tried some Spanish Rene Barbier wines tonight at $6 a pop -- very drinkable and certainly case buy material for parties.
