I haven't posted here for quite some but read the wine reviews regularly. Good humor and civility on these boards.

Found a little saner views on politics here too, room for disagreement. But I feel I need to defend stevebody here as I was very involved in the WS forum conversations as well.

When heated, stevebody has an obvious flair for the insult, some of which I found quite funny. No it didn't strengthen his case but his points are usually very valid.

foodie seemed to have it right when he wrote, "what bothers me most is that facts don't seem to matter in political debate these days--debate is driven by rabid hatred rather than reasoned scanning of the evidence." That describes the WS forum debate in a nutshell.

One of the reasons, or should I say the MAIN reason, I NEVER post on anything that is purely political, and NEVER have posted a word on the Speculator board. WW

It's funny how SB tends to switch which forum he frequents after running his mouth. He was gone from here for quite some time after a few called him a troll. Now, after irritating those at WS, he's back. Must be all those in "his corner". LOL. Or maybe we just interpret "corner" differently. Most think of a corner as support. His sends him out on a rail.

My experience is that he is a rather passionate individual who gets a bit wound up and needs to cool on occasion. Never met him personally, just try to read between the lines to get his point.

Good to remember that the anonymity of a online forum is a lot different than face-to-face.

This is true. There have been more times than I can remember that I have shot my mouth off due to this anonymity. Somehow it takes much more self control online than in person.
