food pairing help

I would like to know what a good red and white wine would be to pair with a risotto with proscuitto and peas, [img]http://www.wines.com/ubb2/smile.gif[/img]

i was thinking a chablis, and a pinot noir from washington mabye?

Hi Ami and welcome to the Wine Board. We would go with a less expensive White Burgundy than Chablis, not just because of the price but because a Chablis would be flinty and steely. Look for a nice a Macon Villages in the $10 to $15 range, it is much more rounded and would go nicely. As far as the Pinot Noir is concerned, that is a good choice. So long as you are getting a White Burgundy, you might go with a red one too. The Joseph Drouhin, Laforet, Bourgogne Pinot Noir is very nice and sells between $10-$12. If that is not satisfactory, as much as we like wines from Washington State, both Oregon and California do much better with Pinot Noir.
