Admittedly bought a couple of these on Parker's rating (88 pts., Issue #141,p48). Clear ruby in the glass. Nose of dark fruit, currant and pepper. Very tannic and hot, no doubt from the 15% alcohol, with subduded flavors that follow the nose. The wine is very tight and giving up not much more than the drying tannins and heat. Will have to wait on this for a while to come to it's senses. I liked the 2000 version better in it's early stage than this but this bottle may have just showed poorly. $13

I wish I could buy those here, there's no local rep for Dan's "Hand Picked" wines, so there's none on the shelves (and I live in a state that won't allow any shipping). I can still get some pretty good grenache, but it rankles.

had the 2000 and although I usually agree with Parker who gave this a 90 I found it acidic and hot (15% alc) even the second day was not drinkable. Had 2 bottles so unless both were bad....must pass on the 2001

My 2000's were VERY good early but have lost their fruit....I still have 8 '00's and will wait awhile on them.
