2005 Joseph Swan Trenton Estate Syrah, Russian River Valley, CA

One of three Joseph Swan wines I purchased on my October visit to the winery. I substituted this for the Mourvedre bottle that was broken before the church fundraiser.
I liked it and one of the attendees liked it better than the Dashe Zinfandel--most attendees prefered the zin which may have been a bit fruitier and softer. I finished a glass or two at home and I too prefered the zinfandel. Well made as all Joseph Swan wines seem to be. Not particularly peppery. Reveals just a little spice on the finish.
