I am totaly new to the world of wine and have been searching forever to find a particular bottle that I was exposed to in St. Martin . The wine is Cote du Provence clos beylesse domaine de l'abbaye. Any information on this would be gratly appreciated in particular where I could buy it in the states. thanks for your help

Hi Dr Joe, and welcome to the Wine Board. Couldn't find that exact one, but if you go to www.wine-searcher.com and just search for Cotes du Provence, you will find many sources of good brands, including some in your area.

There are a few wineries in France whose names include Domaine de l'Abbaye along with a place name (such as Domaine de l'Abbaye des Vaulx de Cernay). Domaine de l'Abbaye (without any added place name) itself is located in Chinon and they're more noted for their Chablis, though they do make a few reds that are pretty good. To my knowledge they don't make wines from outside their area which Provence surely is. Is there more to the name?

Thank you all for your help. I checked the bottle again and i believe it says that domaine de l'abbaye is where the wine is bottled or where it is distibuted ( i don't read French) at any rate the only other name on the bottle is clos beylesse. Is it possible that the only place I can get this wine is in St. Martin?? I searched the name on the web site you recommended but nothing came up.

Doc, I searched under Google and found a couple of places in the British West Indies that have it at $8 a bottle....sounds like a trip is needed! BTW, is this wine a rose' and is the bottle blue?

Drew, as a matter of fact it is a "rose" (the color is actually almost clear) and the bottle is indeed blue. Of interest you can order on St. martin as "the blue wine". I know of the sites you found. i am desperately trying to find a place that sells it in the states. Any suggestions?
