Help! My husband and I were recently in Paris and he had a wine he remembers as, Chateau la Fluer (and the word Medic which I suppose could be the maker or region). We can't find it anywhere (or anyone knowing it). I am desparate to find it for the holidays for him..... does this ring a bell to anyone? Thank you!!

As far as I can tell, Chateau la Fluer is in the wine district of the Libournais which is on the eastern side of the Dordogne River. This area is east of Bordeaux and it contains the the vineyards of St-Emillion, Pomerol, Fronsac and thier satillites.

Chateau la Fluer, from my research appears to be a Pomerol.

Apparently the Chateau is nearby Petrus which is the most famous of the Pomerols. Chateau la Fluer is owned by Mademoiselle Marie Robin and the property produces only about 1,000 cases a year. It is made from virtually pure Merlot and it supossedly can even surpass Petrus in quality. My source of information also offers that wine from the Chateau la Fluer is very difficult to procure.

My reference is LAROUSSE ENCYCLOPEDIA OF WINE, 1994.
