I'm looking for a Rhone red wine. I'm pretty sure it's from the Châteauneuf du Pape. It comes in a bottle that is shaped like the rhone. It is a semi-sweet floral red. I had some several years ago and just loved the wine, but I'm not sure which one it was. Does anyone have any idea which wine this is?

Welcome to the board, Winemom.

We need a bit more info to try to identify the wine you're looking for. Rhones are not made in a semi-sweet style, so you were probably tasting bright fruit, which can be preceived as semi-sweet. Also, would guess that the wine you tasted was of a recent vintage (released just prior to your tasting). Do you recall anything other details that might help in identification?

There are over 200 domaines that bear the Chateauneuf-du-Pape AOC label. As Hotwine says, we need more details to give a reasonable guess.

If it's the actual bottle that has a weird shape, and not the label, then you may be talking about the Père Anselme "La Fiole" CdP. It is non-vintage, and available in many stores. The bottle is also made to look like it has been stored for a long time (with fake dust on it).

It is the actual bottle that is odd shaped, I was told it was shaped like the Rhone and if I remember correctly it did seem a little dusty.
