- winemom - 10-03-2007 I'm looking for a Rhone red wine. I'm pretty sure it's from the Châteauneuf du Pape. It comes in a bottle that is shaped like the rhone. It is a semi-sweet floral red. I had some several years ago and just loved the wine, but I'm not sure which one it was. Does anyone have any idea which wine this is? - hotwine - 10-03-2007 Welcome to the board, Winemom. We need a bit more info to try to identify the wine you're looking for. Rhones are not made in a semi-sweet style, so you were probably tasting bright fruit, which can be preceived as semi-sweet. Also, would guess that the wine you tasted was of a recent vintage (released just prior to your tasting). Do you recall anything other details that might help in identification? - Bucko - 10-04-2007 There are over 200 domaines that bear the Chateauneuf-du-Pape AOC label. As Hotwine says, we need more details to give a reasonable guess. - Thraz - 10-22-2007 If it's the actual bottle that has a weird shape, and not the label, then you may be talking about the Père Anselme "La Fiole" CdP. It is non-vintage, and available in many stores. The bottle is also made to look like it has been stored for a long time (with fake dust on it). - winemom - 10-22-2007 It is the actual bottle that is odd shaped, I was told it was shaped like the Rhone and if I remember correctly it did seem a little dusty. - Innkeeper - 10-22-2007 Bingo! |
