This Syrah from the Minervois AOC in the Languedoc shows bruised raspberries and sheep merde on the nose, with peppered berries and more merde on the palate, resolving to pure bruised fruit on the finish. OK as a sipper but really needs food, even if it's only cheese & crackers. 13% ABV and $7.99 at the discounter. I'll buy more.

It is kinda funky down there, Drew. Debra says "Ew, ew, ew, ick, ick, ick!" when I escort her down there, but I thought that was just the spiderwebs and lizards that were drawing her attention. It smells like a cellar, no doubt about it. But the Minervois hadn't even been through the cellar door; shortstopped one bottle for sampling. You know, that's a thought ....maybe I need to put some cow manure in there, to add a little more class. Just happen to have a bag of dried pies out at the gate.... moisten 'em up a little and they should do just fine.

They do indeed, WD. I've sailed a few across the pasture....

Put a couple down in the cellar, just to temper the smell of sheep stuff that stray bottles may bring in...

Try to say "Cow Chip Chucking Contest" three times holding your tongue. Whine-whine-whine.
