Michael and David Phillips Lodi winemakers who make the 7 Deadly Zins.
Sampled this at Midway yesterday. Very dark/purple in the glass. Smoky blackberry with hints of spice and bacon. Rich and well balanced with a long finish. No heat from the 15% Alc/vol. $14.99. Very nice wine at a good price. Would pair well with steak and winter time roasted meat offerings.

Yup, I totally agree! In fact, of their three wines at this level, this is the one I like the most. Had a chance to break bread with David and Michael one day at their farm (they have a great shop there with nice produce). David is a great guy with a lot of energy pulsing out of him and Michael has this calming influence on people. Nice people.
