These are three Guigals we had over the last month:
They all are at 13%, full bodied, long finish and took 2- 2 and 1/2 hours to completely open up. All are dark ruby in color. All are well balnced.

1990 Hermitage is the best of the lot. this is the last of a "six pack" I bought some while back. Tannis are very smooth with berry flavors and slightly peppery. Odors of vanilla and some smoke on the finish. Still has many years to go.

1995 Hermitage. I would not have been able to say this was a Guigal Hermitage in a blind test. We detected the taste of berry and cassis and some vanilla but with a more peppery smokey taste than the 1990. Tannins were very smooth.

1996 Chateau d'Ampuis Cote Rotie. I don't think we have had a Cote Rotie before. This is much peppery{black] and smokey than the other two. Herbs and some currants but with an earthy finish. Went well with a spicey pepper steak meal.

My index fingers are cramping up so I'll end this here.
Cheers.

I had the Guigal Hermitage 1995 last night. I thought it was not very expressive, but that what was there was excellent - just not enough of it. I have a couple more, I will give them another year or two. It did not taste like it was past its prime - just that it could and should have done better.
