Exactly, 1997 Ventana, Orange Muscat, Monterey. This was one of the most impressive wines we tasted at Ventana. However, moi was a little hesitate because of the vintage. We bought it anyway, and had it tonight. Other than the rarely found muscat from Alsace, it is almost as dry as you can get. It rang in at 1.5% RS, which is just off dry. It started off with melon on the nose and the tip of the tongue. It showed good complexity in the middle, and had an incredibly long finish. The winery has a fairly wide distribution, so you should be able to find it, or a more recent version. Went well with our leftover chicken and green beans almondine and rolls tonight.
