1983 Dr. Fischer Reisling Auslese

Found this nestled in hiding in back of the cellar and remembered this was part of a muti-case purchase of 83 Eisweins I'd made before moving here permantly from Colorado. Not really expecting anything I wasn't dissapointed. Sadly, ALL that remained was a few faint citrus notes, acidity, and a complete void in the fruit area. The cork had to be taken out a crumble at a time and then I spent 10 minutes filtering it thru a coffee filter. Not a real bummer as I was with my lovely CB and some really great friends for a lovely Valentines lunch sitting on one of our favorite restaurants' patio and enjoying a gorgeous 78* day. The wine was probably 10+ years past its' peak but looked good in the glass. WW

Yeah, I get that too, Foodster.... so my retirement income has managed to stay flat, dollar-wise, while actually declining due to inflation. Bumsville.

My payroll deduction for longterm care insurance went up taking about half of my pay increase for 2010. I also received a performance bonus of over $700 but the need for a $1,000 dental crown more than absorbs the bonus.

Our 2010 paycheck actually went down. The retirement pay and social security were flat, but the witholding tax went up!
