I need help. I recieved a bottle of weingut bugert-mauer 1975 as a wedding gift. I can't find any information about it and I don't know if it is somthing I should hold on to or enjoy. thanks for your help

That's an interesting way of putting it "...I don't know if it is something I should hold on to or enjoy."

Why would you deprive yourself of enjoying some wine? Now that you are married, you will have ample opportunity to forego enjoyment. Drink the wine!

Besides, and we have said this thousands of times on this board: there is no investment value in a single bottle of wine.

I believe this is a Rheinhessen wine. The 1975 vintage is getting long in the tooth, but the better wines are still holding, especially the Auslese level and up. You did not mention if this was an Auslese, BA, TBA, or Eiswein......

Foodie, what I think he was getting at with "hold on to or enjoy" was should he cellar it for a while then enjoy it, or enjoy it now.
