2002 Burgans Albarino

I've been spending the holidays in Buffalo, NY....

The racy flavors of grapefruit and lime create quite a sensation upfront, but mellow out on the palate and give way to a mineral finish. It paired beautifully with salmon fillets in martini sauce (butter,shallots, gin, vermouth, olives--in December's "Bon Appetit"), accompanied by steamed asparagus, lemon orzo, and mesclun w/ vinegar and olive oil. ~$10, Alc. ~12% (not sure, though). Delicious.
