1998 Casa de Santar, Estate Bottled, Dao Reserva, Portugal ($12.99). Just about as good (and expensive) as a Dao can get. A rush of ripe berry fruit on the nose and upfront. Intriguing spice, earthy complexity and smooth tannin caress the palate. All followed by a lingering finish. Match it with curried lamb over rice with toasted coconut garnish. No problem. Widely distributed; look for it.

Thanks for the tip. Terrific values can be found there.
