Picked this up at Vintage on Johns' recs and as usual he was spot on. Lovely nose of bing cherry, plum preserves, cinnamon and a tad of saddle leather. All hit the palate solidly. Subtle enter nice center and a 3&3/4 lapper finish. Great food wine. 88/92. 16.99 bottle 14% alc. WW

I really liked that wine in the previous vintage. Got another Bierzo I'll be opening soon. I will post.

I find them to be great food wines, and they haven't yet been subjected to "internationalization." Thus, they don't taste like everything else, the alc levels are lower (again, making them better food wines), and they show more "dirt."

Dan, does Louis/Dressner sell in Georgia?
I think pretty much everything in their portfolio matches up to your description.

All very much traditional, food-friendly, terroir-based wines. Tend to be lower alcohol, too.

Their stuff isn't around in MO, but it is in Illinois. Bon Vivant in Columbia, Il has a bunch.

I'll look here, but if not, then I'll stop in Columbia, IL on my next trip up there.

Speaking of which, they need to get finished on that Glasgow bridge . . .
