Can't find my notes to verify vintage. Had this in a 3 oz. pour at Enoteca Vin Restaurant in Raleigh to accompany a dinner of roast pork, lemon mascarpone polenta, and asparagus. Appetizer was Laura Chenel goat cheese with roasted bell peppers and mixed herbs (parsley, rosemary, thyme) with toasted bread. Dessert was hot chocolate cake with runny chocolate filling and mint chocolate ice cream (mintiest mint ice cream I've ever had).
The Sancerre wine from sauvignon blanc grapes was tangy and grapefruity. Some acid presence but not unpleasantly so. A fresh, clean taste. Some aftertaste, but again not an unpleasant aftertaste. I have a bottle of this in storage which will make a good summer quaffer. I thought the s.b. was a good match to the goat cheese, the lemon-flavored polenta, and the asparagus and not a bad match for the pork.
