If you're a fan of California Sauvignon Blanc, get ready for some bargains. Dan Berger reports on this new glut today in his newletter that should have come out yesterday. One broker in San Rafael handled bulk sales of SB in '04 of 26K gallons. Just few weeks into '06 he was peddeling 1.1 million gallons. Many new brands will be appearing, particularly in the larger retailers, at well under $10. Pinot supplies, on the other hand, are drying up. Look for the prices on your favorite Pinot Noirs to go up.

New Zealand has stolen California's audience. They should listen to the message -- fruit, acidity, sans oak.
