Has anyone tried the 1998 Domaine de Cousergues Sauvignon Blanc, Vin de Pays d'Oc? It was recommended to me as a bargain French white under $10.

Apparently it is made at an old estate that hired a couple top-notch Australians to implement modern techiniques.

Anyone with any tasting notes? I am always looking for good value wines.

And I do agree: the Geyser Peak, Kenwood and St. Supery S.B.'s of 1998 were really tasty to drink. Yum yum!

I tried this wine, and it was, by far, the best value S.B. I have had. We are going to buy a case when it goes on sale next month.

I highly recommend it! It won some famous award in France.

Yum, yum!

I did not record any impressions, and I have since forgotten the details.

I would say it's a very good tasting S.B. - a little zesty, fruity and a true S.B. grassiness, though not quite as grassy or wide mouted as the 1998 Kenwood. It has a full, delicious S.B. aroma. Maybe a little light. A pure taste. No oakiness. Tasty. And a great price.

It won some coveted French award too - something like the gold leaf from the Department of Agriculture.

I do know that I tried the Hogue Fume Blanc since then as a value alternative, and it was poor in comparison.
