The colour rather dark considering that it is only a few years young. Compared to the rest of the 2001 Sauternes, it looks really old. Mix of semillon, sauvignon blanc, and muscadelle.

Lots of botrytis. The nose of honey, apricot & Chrysanthanum (really....). Thick thick thick. The finish is really rich and long. I liked this one but hmm...for the price, I can think of a few that I would prefer, some at even half its price of $20 per 375ml (Chateau Bel Air at $9.99 per 375ml comes to mind).

Had it with a bit of Maytag blue.

Fritz Maytag of the Cheese, Wine, Beer and Washer fame is due here in the next couple of weeks. He always has a tasting of something at our local pushers jernt and the highlight is char-broiled burgers with his signature blue. He's bottling his own wine now from the great York Creek Vineyards
he owns in Napa. Good stuff on all fronts. WW
