Sunvolt, back away from the bottle, find a big gun, and put it out of it's misery. I wouldn't advise popping that bottle unless I had the ghostbusters nearby. Unfortunately your wine is too old from an off vintage and improperly stored. Would recommend going to a wine store and have someone with knowledge suggest a nice wine for the date that will impress.
