this week. Tuesday nite had a party of 6 at the Pamplemousse and we consumed the following in order....91 Heitz Marthas, 94 Phelps Insignia, 96 B.V. Tapestry, 96 B.V. Reserve, 2000, Magnien Vosnee Romanee, and lastly a 98 Galliard Cote Rotie Cote Rozier. As usual when this many people get together and all are in the carpet biz the emphasis is more on who can tell the biggest whopper rather than examining the finer points of a bottle. All the wines were sound but if you have the Heitz I suggest bringing it out in the next 1or2 as it was definately on topp of its' game. The B.V.s were both drinking beautifully with the Tap naturally softer and more appealing to the group. The WOTN was the Phelps. All didn't have enough left to wet a stamp so everybody left happy. As usual my highlite of the week. Wed we only had 2 of the stragglers so we started with a 97 Jordan, 96 Craig Howell Mtn., then a 95 Swanson, and lastly a 96 BR Cohn Olive Hill. The Craig and Cohn could still use another 1-3 but the Jordan and Swanson were dead on top of ole' smokey. Thurs was solo nite. I had a 96 Groth Napa that was a balanced, completely satisfying bottle. Friday nite I ate out with some buddies and the saw the Blue man show at the Vanetian. Amazing stuff them dudes put out.So naturally I came home yesterday with just enough energy left to turn off the ignition in the truck. Should recover sometime this month. WW
