I agree that red is where it's at. But I wouldn't advise on giving up on whites just yet! Rhone whites are amazing. Spicy, floral, and complex. And Batard-Montrachet Chard is so juicy and fat, really really killer wine, and about a fifth of the price of Le Montrachet. Try them, you won't be disappointed.
