Hi again RJ. Most long lasting '04s for example Brunellos, have not been released yet. Not a lot of Bordeaux or Reserve Cali Cab either. The best bet, also not around yet, is the Vintage Porto. For those it might be best until the year before and buy a 20 yr old one then.

The main reason for the 20 yr old Port recommendation is that is not only an easy way to go, but it will also give you a chance to see if he likes wine! This is not a given. I'm speaking from experience with four children ranging from 35 to 41, and that of many other consummate wine drinkers.
