You might look for Oregon Pinot Noirs and those from the Carneros Creek area of California. I have liked a WillaKenzie Pinot Noir from Oregon. If you go back a year on the Pinot Noir/Burgundy thread you will find other specific recommendations. A Byron or Bryon Pinot Noir from the Santa Maria area of California was a big hit at one wine dinner I attended. It retails for about $25.00 and is part of the Robert Mondavi family of wines.
