Champagne/Sparkling Tasting

Hello all - I am quite new at this! Several of my friends and I have enjoyed discovering champagne and sparkling wines, however we know very little about them. I have been toying around with the idea of hosting a tasting at my house, but really don't know where to begin. It has been recommended to me that I have a variety, including champagne, prosecco and cava but I have no idea where to begin. I appreciate any and all advice as to selections as well as protocol.
