Red wine storage for future enjoyment!!

Hi Red, and welcome to the Wine Board. If you have a cellar that never goes much over 70 degrees F or much under 40 degrees F, all you need is a rack. If you don't have that then you will need a climate control unit at a much higher price. There is a wealth of material on both kinds of storage in the thread on storage at the bottom of the Board. Use the "Go back" feature to look at all the information that has been posted.

As far as what wines to keep or age, that comes with knowledge gained by research and experiance. This board is a good place to research, and there are many good books as well. For starters wine types to look for include Bordeaux, Burgundy, Barolo, Barberesco, and Brunello. Wine varieties include cabernet sauvignon, merlot, syrah/shiraz, and nebbiolo. This is by no means all inclusive, and is just a start.
