Welcome to the board, GK. And congrats on your pending nuptials. Distribution of specific wines is very spotty from one part of the country to another. However, I recommend a Sauvignon Blanc with the chicken pecan, and a Syrah or Shiraz (or Rhone) with the beef. An inexpensive French Sauvignon Blanc (labeled "Bordeaux Blanc") is Michel Lynch: I've paid as much as $10 for it, and as little as about $3.60. For the red, Les Jamelles Syrah and Fat Bastard Shiraz would both work, and both are from the Languedoc region of SW France. Neither should cost more than $10, and I'm buying both right now for $7.99. A word of warning on the Sauvignon Blanc - there's a lot of cheap junk on the market. Michel Lynch is the only really cheap French one I know of that's decent. But there are several from New Zealand that are spoken well of - I'm just not familiar with them. Check with your retailer. But for the red, think "Rhone", or "Syrah" or "Shiraz", and you should be OK.
