CCK, Dr. Konstantin Frank was a person; the doctor was a doctorate in agriculture I believe. He grew grapes in Siberia!

He is the man who brought vinifera grapevine growing to New York, producing (with the help of the now defunct Gold Seal Winery) the first ever successful crops and wines from Chardonnay and Riesling, in the 1960s. He died in 1985.

The Franks still operate the winery--his son and grandson.
