Welcome to the board. Which school are you going to? If it is for the WSET, the recommend a number of books but there is not one that is for the course. Many books will be a good start for this including Wine for Dummies, Wine Bible, Wine Atlas (J. Robinson) and Oxford guide to Wine. they also recommend that you read the periodicals.

Having taken the intro course, it was only really important to read one complete intro book, like the wine course, wine bible, wine for dummies, etc, as they will bring you through everything else. That list should have been part of the package they sent you.
