My dad is like yours, Georgie. To this day he doesn't talk about what he went through in the war. He was at Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941 getting ready to ship out to Wake Island (he didn't go), and except for about 10 months in flight training, getting married and starting me, he spent the rest of the time in the Pacific. He has a bunch of medals and ribbons but I have no idea what he did to get them because he hasn't yet talked about what he did.
