The Virginian-Pilot had human interest story starting on the front page. It was a story about a woman who was a child on the island durng the attack. Her arm was cut with shrapnel..... Her father was in the Navy but at sea when the attack occurred....

I put my flag (which flies 24/7 unless the weather is really severe) at half-mast at Midnight (Saturday Night / Sunday Morning).

It flew for the full 24 hours of December 7, 2008 at half-mast.

I do this every December 7th since I installed the flag pole. And, yes, there is a very bright spot-light directed toward the flag! It really is neat to see that brightly lighted flag flying in front of my home!
