I didn't check out the local paper but at church when we offer prayers from the pews, I asked for prayers for all veterans, especially those of World War II.
My father was an ROTC instructor when we entered the war and he went to the Philippines after it was retaken but did not see combat. I believe two of his brothers saw combat in France (Uncle Frank was in an Army Air Force bomb squadron I believe). His youngest brother was too young to serve.
