Dozer, we had a meal yesterday similar to the one you described: simple oven-baked ham with potato salad, cole slaw and brocolli. The wine was a German white, a 1996 Wehlener Klosterberg Riesling Kabinett-halbtrocken Mosel-Saar-Ruwer (MSR), AP Nr. 2 606 465 8 97, purchased in Apr '99 for $8.99. It was excellent with the ham, having just the faintest touch of sweetness to it, while the ham did not have a glaze, so had no sweetness at all. A clean, crisp, MSR Riesling. Just wish I had bought more. But a word of warning: if your ham is glazed, go with a Pinot Noir.
