Chicken with Cranberry Chutney

What wine? My friend seems to have an allergic reaction to red wines that she doesn't have drinking white wines (is there a difference in the histamine level depending on the alcohol level--I know rieslings tend to have a lower percentage of alcohol than most red wines) I was thinking a pinot noir or rose might match the chicken and cranberry better that a white wine but in deference to my friend's allergies, I may end up with a riesling or gewurztraminer.

I couldn't imagine a dish more perfectly designed for a crisp, DRY flavorful ROSE served quite cold. Try a Cerasuolo Montepulciano, any of the Rhonish examples from California or maybe even a Red Sancerre...

I posted before, but it vanished...anyway, Roberto is correct, but I would still go with either of the whites, just in case your friend balks.

I hope your friend has sought medical opinion on the allergies, and from a doc who understands wine.
